Here, folks, is the coup de gras for today’s Scroturilogy. Scrotrilogy? Scroturday trilogy. I have with me, retrieved from the New York City Hot Sauce Expo, a bottle of mix. It’s not just any mix, no. It’s The Murph’s Famous Bloody Mary Mix.
Water, Tomato Paste, Worcestershire Sauce (Distilled White vinegar, Molasses, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt, Soy Sauce (Water, Salt, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Corn Syrup, Caramel Coloring), Anchovies, Polysorbate 80, Soy Four, Garlic Extract), Lemon Juice (Filtered Water, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Sodium Bisulfate (Preservative), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Lemon Oil), Horseradish, Lime Juice (Lime Juice From Concentrate (water, lime juice concentrate), Citric Acid, Polysorbate 80, Propylene Glycol, 1/30 of 1% Sodium Benzoate and 1/40 of 1% Sodium Bisulfite (Preservatives) and Lime Oil), Salt, Cayenne Pepper Sauce (Cayenne Peppers, Distilled Vinegar (Vinegar, Water) Salt, Garlic), Celery Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder.
I LOVE shaking this jar! It sounds like a goddamn milk shake, it’s fantastic!! Ok, now that I’m calming down… This here is a thick mix. Which should be obvious, be the sound it makes when you shake it around. But since you can’t hear it, you have to believe me when I say it sounds like shaking a milk shake. Taking the lid off, it smells absolutely delicious. Rich, bold, and tomatoey. That’s a word, damnit. Tomatoey. Sorry, this is my third review of Bloody Marys today, so I’m effectively 6 shots of vodka deep. They’re going to love me at work tonight. Anyway, this stuff smells great. And tomatoey.
Ratings are awesome. This is a fantastic mix, just phenomenal. According to Murph, they simmer the mix, just like a good pasta sauce, before they bottle it. I think that really evokes the flavor of the tomatoes, and brings the sauce together. This stuff is a Notable in flavor, and a Mild in fire. And it’s not just good for Bloody Marys, but I could see mixing this with some ground beef to make a killer burger. In fact, I will. I’ll call it a Bloody Scrote Burger.
