I got turned onto this company a few years back at the Weekend of Fire in my old stomping grounds of Cincinnati, Ohio. I bought a few of their products that day and honestly have bought most of the products they put out since. This past Xmas I sent Johnny a message asking him if the Memphis BBQ blend was going to be available again by the Black Friday sale because I couldn’t find this on the site. Unfortunately it was not at that time. I was so stoked when I opened the box of goodies for review and saw this product. I have very fond memories of this product and I’m looking forward to cooking a pork butt using this blend for Super bowl Sunday! Hopefully it will be as good as I remember.

One thing I know is true is HBD’s hot sauces are some of the best products I have had the pleasure of tasting and have been known to turn a friend or two onto the products as well. Memphis Bell BBQ rub is easily the best rub I have found thus far. I smoked a pork butt for the Super Bowl and everyone enjoyed the flavor. The strong scents of paprika, chili powder, marjoram and black pepper are very noticeable. The color is pretty much the way you would think it look: a reddish beauty! I am a really big fan of cumin, and this is definitely an excellent touch to the rub. The ingredients are bold enough to hold up through the cooking process and has excellent balance. If you find Black Pepper or Chili powder hot, than this would get Mild but this truly has ZERO HEAT! Flavor notable!
