As y’all know, it’s Cinco de Mayo.  What you may not know is that this is NOT Mexican independence day.  Cinco de Mayo simply commemorates an impossible victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla.  Because you know, beating the French is cause for celebration…  But that’s beside the point!  The celebration eventually came to influence American culture in such a way that in the U.S. it is now considered a holiday for Mexican tradition.  And what better way to celebrate by drinking ’til I think I’m Mexican!!!

Ingredients:

Beer, Lime Juice, Hot Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce

The Drink:

Well I started out with a big-ass stein.  I threw some lime juice in the bottom (about 1/4 cup’s worth) and added some Worcestershire Sauce (1 TBSP) and hot sauce (1.5 TBSP Devil’s Blood) to the mix.  Finally, I topped it all off with two cans of beer.  I know it’s supposed to be Mexican beer, but I drink Bud.  So there.  Deal with it.  Oh, and you’ll notice from the photo I rimmed the glass with salt and cayenne pepper.

Then I drank it.  Then I drank another.  It’s been a  long weekend, so I’ve been drinking micheladas for most of the day.  I’ve no idea where the drink originated or where the name came from, but I found a few recipes on Mexicanfood.com, which seems legit.

I don’t know what else to tell y’all.  I’m pretty drunk, and this spicy Mexican Abortion is not half bad.  Because of the Devil’s Blood, it gets about a 3/5 in the red pepper thingy and a 3/5 in the green pepper thingy.  Again, drunk.  Brian, I’m sure, will edit this to coherence and non-non-sensicalness.
