I know, it’s a mouthful.  That’s what she said.  And it’s been a while since you, our sexy Heatards, have heard from me.  I’d apologize, but I really don’t care.  (This is where I would put a smiley face if I was a 12 yr old girl)

Anyway, this Scroturday eve, treat yourself to this review of Casa De Ruiz – Church Street Cafe‘s Original Restaurant Recipe Hot Salsa.  This salsa happens to be the winner of a first place 2012 Scovie award for All Natural Salsa.  I can attest, this is good stuff.  Having opened it only a day and a half ago, the jar is already almost gone.  I’d blame nachos, but we all know I just want to blame Canada.


Tomato, Jalapeno, Yellow Hot, Onion, Cilantro, Oregano, Garlic Powder, Salt, Vinegar.


I definitely have a new favorite salsa, and I could tell when I opened the jar.  With the sealed jar, the innards looked a bit soupy, wet even.  I wasn’t quite impressed.  After removing the lid, however, I was greeted with a sweet, savory smell while staring into the mouth of a lumpy goddess of perfect consistency.  I know that doesn’t make much sense as an analogy, but deal with it.  I call it sexy salsa.



In the heat category, despite it’s blatant labeling of ‘Hot’, I have to say ‘Not.’  In fact, I couldn’t give this much above a medium.  I want to give it a mild, but there’s a detectable kick from the jalapenos, so I’m going with medium.  As to flavor, I can’t not give my new favorite salsa a notable.  And as a side note, I’m completely serious when I say this is the best salsa I’ve ever had.  Buy it, and enjoy folks!
