If you were one of the almost 15,000 people that watched the live show last night (NSFW language at the beginning, David made me mad.), then you already know the the basics about our new contests. That’s right, contests, plural, as in more than one. We decided $1000 was too much to give for a single competition, so we decided to have two of them.

I would love to keep you in suspense about the chile cash battles, but alas, I have A.D.D.. Therefore, contest #1 will be an article submission contest, and contest #2 will be to redesign the EAT MORE HEAT! logo. If you think you can compete, then keep reading.

Contest 1

The article submission contest is pretty simple. Write a post having to do with spicy stuff. It doesn’t have to be a product review either. It can be about chile gardening, a spicy restaurant, a spicy eating challenge, or whatever you think would make an interesting post. Make sure to include any media you would want to accompany the article. You will have TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY (January 25, 2012) to submit your article. We will choose three finalists that we think are best of the submissions, and then post them here. There will also be a poll to allow our readers to vote for the best article. The winner will be decided by popular vote. The prizes will be: $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $125 for third place. The winner will also become a contributor to the site, so make sure you’re ready to write at least one post a week going forward.

Contest 2

The credit (and $100) for the logo redesign contest idea goes to Buddah. It’s pretty simple if you’re an artist or graphic designer. Our logo has been the same since the site launched in April, 2009. It’s time for an update. Design a new logo for us, and send it in .jpg format. If you’re an artist and don’t have the software to make a digital image, then you can scan your drawing and submit that image. You will have TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY (January 25, 2012) to submit your logo. We’ll pick our top three favorite logos, and the readers will vote for the winner. The prizes will be: $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $125 for third place.

Now for the answers to some of the questions we got last night, and these go for both contests. The contests are open to everyone except EAT MORE HEAT! reviewers and staff. We will be accepting international submissions too! If there is any self promotion in your submission, it will be disqualified. That means no reviewing your own products, or talking about your business. You can pimp yourself if you win. The prizes will be paid via PayPal, so make sure you have an account.
