New World’s Hottest Pepper Crowned
Ladies and Gentleman, say hello to the TEXAS SCORPENIS!
The ultra hot pepper craze started 4 years ago the with the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) achieving the World Record at 1,041,427 SHU. The record stood firm for almost 4 years until it was toppled by the Infinity Chilli at 1,067,286 SHU. Two weeks later THAT record went limp due to the Naga Viper at 1,382,118 SHU. A month later, news surfaced that the Trinidad Scorpion may have emasculated the record AGAIN at 1,463,700 SHU.
Having trouble keeping up? That’s ok, we were too, until today. That’s because I have spent the last year growing the NEW hottest pepper in the world!
The Texas Scorpenis is an unstable hybrid of the Trinidad Scorpion and the Peter Pepper, and early tests are a firm 1,690,069 SHU.
Will this pepper rise to the head of the ultra hot class? We’ll let you know if we rub out the world record.

So many jokes, so little time. Let me start out with, I’d like to eat one of those.
…a funny April’s fool day…
